"Soodeen points out that other water-capture devices in its category use refrigerants to condense atmospheric moisture and turn water vapor into droplets of water – a process that’s energy-intensive, noisy, and bad for the environment. Kara Pure, on the other hand, uses a desiccant that absorbs water from the air (sort of like volcanic rock or silica gel). The air passes through this desiccant and the water is extracted and stored in Kara Pure’s storage tank."
