"The last commercial supersonic flight was almost 20 years ago, and even then super-fast flights were only on very limited routes. Most of today's jetliners actually fly more slowly than they did 20 or 30 years ago, in order to save fuel. But that may be about to change. It's still a long shot, but private start-up companies – with a big assist from NASA – may just give us all another chance to fly faster than the speed of sound."
