The asylum / temporary work visa process could be easier / faster at the U.S.-Mexico border

"They will be interviewed by border patrol agents who (may) threaten them, confuse them, and perhaps even falsify their answers in order to prevent them from continuing in the process...This process alone often takes months, and during these months asylum seekers are kept in jail... At the end, because of lack of legal representation the majority of asylum seekers will lose and be deported back to the country they fled."
