Citizenship registries could not deprive people of human rights

"The very idea of the NRC, with its fundamental premise rooted in the insider-outsider binary has led to the institutionalization of exclusion. The NRC in all its arbitrariness and unfairness has imposed a palpable anxiousness on the entire region. Contrary to the principles of natural justice, the categorization of citizenship status considers every resident of Assam guilty until proven innocent."
