"In a study published last year, Andrea Crisanti, right, and his colleagues were able to spread an infertility mutation to 75 percent of a mosquito population...If Crisanti’s approach works, you could, in theory, wipe out an entire species of mosquito...there are around 3,500 of them, of which only about 100 spread human disease."
