How U.S. Discrimination / Racism could be different



Country / private clubs could not discriminate / receive tax benefits

U.S. students could not be arrested for minor offenses / have unnecessarily negative experiences with school police

Hillbillies / country people could not be discriminated against

Less discrimination could exist in the U.S. housing market

Unconscious bias training could be used in workplaces

Critical theories and activist scholarship could be examined / taught / published accurately with room for debate

Child abuse versus neglect / poverty could be differentiated / treated differently

Hiring could not rely on personality tests and AI

Hair could not lead to discrimination

Racial/discrimination and adverse childhood experiences (ace) trauma could be considered in education, social services, therapy, and workplaces

Juries could be more diverse by race, gender, and income

Minor crime arrests, racial and religious profiling, stop and frisk, police quotas, fines, and seizure of property could create community distrust and resentment of police

Police could have implicit bias training, mediation/conflict resolution/de-escalation training, use of force training, and HR diversity/local community recruitment

A class exercise could teach about racism and discrimination

Conversations and friendships among diverse people could prevent discrimination, racism, and hate crimes

Complaints against police officers could result in reform, disciplinary actions, a national misconduct registry, and effective training

The Holocaust and other genocides could be taught in schools

Tech companies could remove hate speech and wildly untrue content

Walking groups could inspire better health, healing, and organizing

The FBI and CIA could devote more resources to investigating white-nationalists and other forms of domestic terrorism

Affirmative action could be based on wealth / diversity of background

Black Americans / Native Americans / Chinese / Latinos / LGBTQ / women could be given reparations

Organizations could help people leave hate/violent groups

Truth and reconciliation commissions could help bring about peace after internal unrest/violence/discrimination

Restorative justice could be used to help both perpetrators and victims

Schools could use different student safety procedures

National educational, scientific, and historical standards could be set for school textbooks

Police officers could wear body cameras
